Groups Continue Efforts to Urge CFPB to Stop Hiding Narratives in Consumer Complaint Database

CFA joined more than 50 consumer, civil rights, community, housing and privacy organizations in a letter to Director Chopra of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) about the continued issue of hidden narratives within the consumer complaint database. This was a serious disservice imposed on consumers under the previous administration. Under Director Kraninger, the Bureau opted to bury the complaint narratives, making it much harder for non-experts to find these essential elements of the process. The groups wrote to the previous director urging her to reconsider her decision and reinstate easy access to the critical details of consumers’ complaints. The groups asked that these changes be reversed as swiftly as is possible.
