Groups Oppose Weak Louisiana Privacy Bill

In a letter to the Chair of the House Commerce Committee in the Louisiana state legislature, CFA and other groups expressed opposition to HB 987, a privacy bill that would actually do little to protect the personal information of Louisiana consumers or rein in troublesome data practices on the part of major tech companies such as Google and Facebooks. The groups pointed out that the bill offers even fewer privacy protections than the industry-supported law enacted in Virginia and made specific suggestions for improvements.
