CFA Urges VA Legislative Work Group to Recommend Changes to Strengthen Data Protection Law

In a letter and testimony to the Consumer Data Protection Work Group created by the Virginia legislature’s Joint Commission on Technology and Science, Susan Grant, CFA’s Director of Consumer Protection and Privacy, provided suggestions for improving the state’s Consumer Data Protection Act to better-protect Virginians from unwanted tracking and profiling, discriminatory practices, and disclosure of their personal information. The Work Group will make recommendations to the Virginia legislature later this year.
