Veteran Saves, a program under America Saves, is dedicated to empowering Service Members transitioning out of the military, Veterans, and their families to build financial confidence, save effectively, and reduce debt. Coordinated by the non-profit Consumer Federation of America (CFA), the program draws on research-based principles of behavioral economics and social marketing to create meaningful, lasting changes in savings behavior.

Veteran Saves is structured around four key program pillars—Financial Stress, Housing, Banking, and Employment—designed to address the unique financial challenges faced by transitioning Service Members and Veterans. These pillars guide the program’s resources and initiatives, focusing on practical support such as reducing debt, navigating housing transitions, securing access to reliable banking, and managing the financial aspects of entering civilian employment.

Veteran Saves encourages Veterans and transitioning Service Members to take the Veteran Saves Pledge—a personal commitment to saving—and provides resources to help organizations support these efforts year-round. The program highlights its mission during Veteran Saves Week every November, offering focused themes and materials to address financial stressors and support successful transitions.

By addressing these four critical areas, Veteran Saves is committed to tailoring resources and education that empower Veterans and their families to confidently navigate their financial futures and achieve stability beyond military service.
