Groups Oppose Drastically Amended MD Biometric Privacy Bill

In a letter to the Maryland Senate Finance Committee, Consumer Federation of America and other organizations expressed strong opposition the Biometric Data Privacy Act, which they had previously supported, because of amendments made in a House committee that significantly weaken the protections it would provide to Maryland residents against damaging, non-consensual collection and use of their sensitive biometric identifiers. The groups recommended several changes to restore those protections.
