Public Interest Groups Call on OMB to Withdraw Interim Guidance Implementing Unconstitutional Executive Order

CFA TC

In a letter to the acting administrator of the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), public interest groups are asking that the interim guidance implementing Section 2 of the Executive Order of January 30, 2017, titled "Reducing Regulation and Controlling Regulatory Costs," be withdrawn. The groups argue that the Executive Order exceeds the constitutional authority of the president, and that the implementation of the Executive Order also exceeds the constitutional authority of OMB.
