Consumer Groups File Comments to the FTC on the Proposed Amendments to the Telemarketing Sales Rule

CFA TC

Consumer Federation of America, the National Consumer Law Center (on behalf of its low income clients), the Center for Responsible Lending, Consumer Action,  Consumers Union, the Advocacy and Policy Arm of Consumer Reports, National Association of Consumer Advocates, National Consumers League and U.S. PIRG submit comments to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) on the proposed amendments to the Telemarketing Sales Rules (“TSR”). We applaud the FTC for proposing well-documented and thoroughly justified proposed rule changes. The prefatory material to the Proposed Rule identifies and illustrates the necessity for these changes, which are essential to protect consumers from fraud.
