Joint Letter to FCC Regarding ExParte Meeting on Blackboard and Edison Electric

CFA TC

CFA and other consumer organizations have written to the FCC expressing concerns over petitions by Blackboard, Inc. and Edison Electric Institute and American Gas Association (Edison) asking the FCC to allow automated and prerecorded calls and texts to cell phones without prior express consent under the broad rubric of emergency calls. CFA strongly believes that the Commission should reject such attempts as they relate to telemarketing calls.
