Consumer, Public Health Advocates Ask for Timely Implementation of Nutrition Facts Label Update

In response to a tweet from FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb signaling that the agency would push back the compliance date for large food manufacturers to comply with new Nutrition Facts Label rules until January of 2020, CFA joined other consumer and public health groups in urging FDA to stand up for consumers and to resist industry lobbyists’ incessant demands. The attached letter points out that dozens of companies have already adopted the new label, and continued stalling will generate consumer confusion.
