Consumer Groups Urge Insurance Commissioners to Follow California's Lead on Insurance Premium Refunds
In this June 25th letter, J. Robert Hunter, former Texas insurance commissioner, credentialed actuary, and CFA's Director of Insurance, and Birny Birnbaum, Executive Director of the Center for Economic Justice, praise California Insurance Commissioner Lara's announcement requiring auto insurance premium refunds to consumers through June 2020. They call upon other commissioners to take action and follow California's example to ensure consumers do not pay excessive premiums, and to explain their decisions.
