Consumer Federation of America Supports California Bill to Build AG Office's Expertise in AI
CFA joined a group of advocacy organizations supporting SB 69: Artificial intelligence program: Attorney General, a bill that would establish a specialized program in the Attorney General’s office to build internal expertise in artificial intelligence, including its applications, risks, regulatory implications, and civil rights impacts. The letter emphasizes the increasing impact of AI on Californians' lives, and calls for investment in support for the Attorney General's existing efforts to investigate and prosecute violations of existing privacy rules, consumer protections, and civil rights laws that involve AI systems.
