CFA Comments on USDA Regulatory Reform Plan Ask for Better Consumer Protections

CFA submitted the following comments in response to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s request for “ideas on regulations, guidance documents, or any other policy documents that are in need of reform.” The comments focus on the role of USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service and include several proposals for reforms that would help the agency to advance its stated mission of “protecting the public’s health by ensuring the safety of meat, poultry, and processed egg products.”
