CFA Asks Congressional Leaders to Stop Disruptive Move of USDA Research Agencies
CFA submitted the following testimony to leader of the Senate Appropriations Committee, asking that they withhold funding for the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s plans to relocate the National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) and Economic Research Service (ERS) outside of the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. If carried out, the proposal would cause massive attrition among the ranks of the research agencies, and set back research into critical subject-matter areas, including food safety.
