Kraft Foods Announcement on Portion Sizes, Marketing and Fat Content of Products

PR

"Kraft Foods' announcement that it will reduce the fat and calorie content of some products and curtail marketing to children in schools was very encouraging.

"Our obesity problem is serious and growing and Kraft's actions will help. In addition, because of Kraft's size and visibility, it is likely to spur others to take similar steps.

"We would have preferred that Kraft had also reduced or altered the amount of television advertising it aims at children. Nonetheless, even without this step, Kraft's actions are praiseworthy."
