Consumer Groups Applaud U.S. Senate Confirmation of Mary Boyle for Commissioner of Consumer Product Safety Commission

Washington, D.C. – Consumer Federation of America (CFA) and Kids In Danger (KID) applaud the U.S. Senate for confirming President Biden’s nominee for Commissioner of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Mary Boyle.

Mary Boyle has significant CPSC experience, having most recently served as Executive Director of the agency.

Last year, the Senate confirmed President Biden’s nominations of Richard Trumka Jr. for Commissioner and Alex Hoehn-Saric as Chairman of the CPSC. Now, the agency can operate fully with five commissioners. The CPSC has not had a full commission (five commissioners) since October 2019.

We look forward to working with Ms. Boyle and her team to protect families from hazards such as unstable dressers, unsafe infant sleep products, ingestion hazards like magnets and button batteries, and more.
