Consumer Letter Urging CFPA Authority over Credit-Related Insurance Products
On July 15, 2009, thirteen insurance industry trade organizations sent a letter asking that no insurance products or practices be included in the proposal to create a Consumer Financial Protection Agency (CFPA). The arguments made in opposition to including insurance in CFPA are self-serving, misleading and inaccurate and should be rejected by Congress.
