CFA Asks State Insurance Commissioners If Auto Insurance Rates in Their States Are Actuarially Sound

A Consumer Federation of America study has found startling differences in auto insurance prices quoted by affiliates of the top five insurers in America (excluding non-standard carriers). The findings raise serious questions as to whether auto insurance rates are actuarially sound for the leading writers in various states, and if the markets are competitive.
