Veri di Suvero (they/them) has served as the Executive Director of Alaska Public Interest Research Group (AKPIRG) since 2018. AKPIRG is Alaska’s only non-partisan state-wide consumer advocacy nonprofit, and under di Suvero’s tenure has grown from one part-time staff to 20. Their main areas of work include consumer financial protection, ratepayer advocacy, and government accountability and transparency. Previous to their work with AKPIRG, di Suvero worked as a language access and language policy consultant with the State of Alaska, Municipality of Anchorage, Anchorage Department of Health and Social Services, and the Endangered Language Alliance in New York City. They were also an Alaska Fellow with the Municipality of Anchorage’s 49th State Angel Fund, a public/private investment vehicle, where they focused on creating foundational policy and procedures. Di Suvero currently lives on Dena’ina lands in Anchorage, Alaska.
