Alecia Blair

Director of Military Saves

Alecia D. Blair, M.S., AFC®, serves as Director of Military Saves. She has been with Military Saves since 2014 as a Communications Associate, Communications/Outreach Project Manager and, most recently, as Communications Strategist & Outreach Manager.

Prior to her time with Military Saves, Alecia worked for SUNY Jefferson’s Higher Education Center (JHEC) where she provided administrative, operational and marketing leadership for the JHEC, its six partner institutions and more than a dozen degree programs. As an Adjunct Instructor, Alecia taught professional development workshops to military spouses, retirees and individuals in transition.

During her tenure as a Marketing Communications Coordinator at Cape Fear Valley Health System in Fayetteville, N.C., Alecia coordinated the marketing, communications and public relations for Cape Fear Valley Cancer Center. She also served as Editor of the hospital’s monthly employee magazine and was a regular contributor to its community publication, Making Rounds. During her time as a Marketing/Physician Liaison, Alecia promoted the hospital’s oncology and surgical services to physician practices throughout the region, while building relationships with those practices.

While working in the Communications Department at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, Mass., Alecia served as the Intranet Editor where she helped launch a website that improved internal communications for more than 4,500 employees.

Alecia earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Communications (Journalism), English Literature and Secondary Education and her Master’s Degree in Communications Management from Simmons College, Boston, Mass.

She is a military spouse to an active-duty Army soldier and holds two Commander’s Awards for Public Service as a Family Readiness Group Leader.

Having been through several deployments and permanent change of station (PCS) moves with her family, Alecia believes deeply in the mission of Military Saves to help service members and their families save money, reduce debt and build wealth.
